Backup architecture transformation for small businesses

Project context

  • The customer’s current data center platform is outdated. With the expansion of business, it has brought significant challenges to the performance of the system platform, and there is a need to enhance the performance of the system platform. After a thorough understanding, it was found that the customer not only has insufficient platform performance but also needs to build a system platform that ensures business continuity and can be smoothly expanded in the future.
  • It was learned that the customer was using the traditional backup architecture. After analyzing the situation with the customer, it was found that the backup and restoration efficiency was low and there was a single point of failure. The customer expressed that these problems would persist. Then, how to solve these problems was discussed. Subsequently, the characteristics and advantages of DELLEMC backup were explained to the customer. As a result, the DPS data protection suite was successfully upsold.
  • IST/TSR in its daily operations identified the customers’ needs, and the proposed solutions were recognized by the customers and also earned their trust.

Solution

  • Three R7515 servers, along with Preinstall and VC, are used to build a virtualization platform. The VMware fault switchover function ensures business continuity.
